Take note of Jesus’ decision to end His reading where He did. He stopped short of reading, “And the day of vengeance of our God.” He ended His reading on the subject of grace. The purpose of His first coming was to proclaim the good news of salvation by grace through faith in the Messiah. The “day of vengeance” will come soon enough.
